I'm a belly dancing theology studying dachshund-loving book writing musician from Illinois.
In this blog, I'm mainly exploring my efforts to be as green a mama as I can, living in the burbs, holding down a full time job, and dreaming of a Smartcar in a world of SUV's and minivans. I'm tired of all these books and stuff that tell you how easy it is to eat locally and be green and wonderful and all, when all it requires is maybe an extra hour or two a day of shopping and food prep effort. I don't have that extra hour or two, I'm lucky to carve out an extra 15 minutes. And I'm tired of "speedy" recipes that call for 15 ingredients, and they involve things like "cooked chicken" or "chopped onion"--as if it doesn't take time to cook and chop and all that--or heavily processed foods. So I'm trying to chronicle my efforts to achieve maximum healthy greenness in minimum time spent. My general life-blog is at lady-jem.livejournal.com, but this is where I'll do the greenstuff!
