Not having a dog has protected us from fleas
but
we have battled lice.
We got it from a family that got it from the Y.
If we get it again I'm definitely using the natural route. In some ways I think lice is easier to eradicate than fleas since lice don't live off the human head for long and don't lay eggs anywhere but a human head. The whole "wash everything in hot water and sterilize the house" is really overkill.
